Berlin, Germany
We are excited to announce our participation at the Berlin Science Week 2024 through an independent event that showcases our research group’s groundbreaking work in brain simulation.
The “Einstein in the Dome” series, co-jointly organized by Stiftung Planetarium Berlin and Einstein Foundation Berlin, presents "My Virtual Brain", an immersive experience taking place on Wednesday, November 6, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, and hosted at Berlin’s iconic Zeiss-Großplanetarium.
About the Berlin Science Week
Every year, Berlin Science Week transforms the city into a vibrant celebration of scientific exploration and experimentation. Running from November 1 to 10, this year’s theme, “COMMON GROUND”, emphasizes the power of science to connect people across borders, ideologies, and cultures.
Berlin Science Week aims to show that by sharing knowledge openly, science can help tackle some of the world’s most pressing challenges—whether in medicine, technology, or the environment. This ten-day festival brings together over 300 events across two major festival hubs, as well as at venues and online spaces throughout Berlin, creating a unique platform for researchers, thinkers, and enthusiasts to unite, share, and learn.

Einstein in the Dome: My Virtual Brain
At “My Virtual Brain” event, Prof. Petra Ritter will explore the groundbreaking potential of personalized brain simulations—digital "avatars" created from real brain data. These avatars provide a unique way to model and study individual brain functions, enabling insights into both healthy and diseased states.
Through this innovative approach, digital brain models are proving invaluable in clinical settings, as well as in education and entertainment.
With a stunning 360° full-dome projection, audiences will experience cognitive processes and clinical interventions in real-time, immersing them in the next frontier of neuroscience and offering a vivid glimpse into how brain simulation technology may shape the future of medicine.
Event Schedule
The event will be moderated by Dr. Jochen Müller, a well-known science communicator and neuroscientist with his work in science slams and his writing for Dasgehirn.info and Zeit Wissen.
