The European Health Telematics Association (EHTEL) is marking a major milestone with its 25th Anniversary Symposium, to be held on 3-4 December 2024 at Scotland House, Brussels, Belgium. This event will celebrate EHTEL's legacy of innovation and its forward-looking vision for digital health transformation.
EHTEL’s 2024 Symposium will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders from healthcare, technology, and policy. Among the speakers will be our group leader, Prof. Petra Ritter, contributing to discussions on the future of digital health. The event will explore topics like data sharing, infrastructure development, and people-centred care while addressing pressing challenges such as AI implementation and the European Health Data Space.

Petra Ritter’s Contribution
A highlight of the EHTEL 2024 Symposium programme is Session 6: Looking forwards: Operational pathway to AI implementation, scheduled for 4 December 2024 from 15:25 to 16:30 (CET), featuring Prof. Petra Ritter. This session will explore the challenges of integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into healthcare, focusing on the need to access and integrate a wide variety of high-quality data, such as biomarkers, genomics, wearables, and PREMs and PROMs. It will also examine the importance of fostering collaboration between healthcare organizations and industry to create the right environment for developing, testing, and validating AI solutions.
As part of this session, Prof. Ritter will present her talk, The TEF-Health: A New Ecosystem for AI Implementation. She will discuss the TEF-Health program, which is establishing a network to test and validate AI solutions in healthcare, addressing key challenges in data integration and collaboration.
