REAL TALK! Exhibition at the Museum of Communication Berlin
Berlin, Germany
We are excited to announce that the Brain Simulation Lab will participate in the REAL TALK! Language. Power. World. exhibition at the Museum of Communication Berlin. Our contribution will be an interactive 3D educational app, which explains how language is processed in the brain.
Language is our most important means of communication. It enables understanding, fosters closeness and conveys a sense of belonging. It is a mirror of society, a source of creativity and a forum for political debate. Mobility and migration are giving rise to new linguistic spaces, digital media are transforming the ways in which we express ourselves, and AI systems are opening up access across language barriers in a matter of seconds.
With the exhibition Real Talk! Language. Power. World., the Museum of Communication Berlin examines human language against the backdrop of a diverse, multilingual, and technologically advanced society. Although multilingualism is the norm worldwide, outdated notions of the ideal of monolingualism still persist. The exhibition focuses on on linguistic diversity and encourages visitors to experience it as an added value.
In six themed rooms, objects, media, and interactive stations invite you to explore your own linguistic world. Visitors can design their own language portrait, learn untranslatable words, test their knowledge of bureaucratic German (Amtsdeutsch), and explore out how affirmations affect their mood.
