EBRAINS Training Event – Simulate with EBRAINS
- Tuesday, 8 November 2022
- Wednesday, 9 November 2022
Online
The Brain Simulation Section is participating at the EBRAINS Infrastructure Training Event: "Simulate with EBRAINS: How to use EBRAINS research infrastructure and Fenix resources for simulations on a scale from molecules via small and large networks of point or structured spiking neurons to simplified whole brain activity and virtual environments", organized as a ZOOM video conference.
The training event is taking place from November 7 to November 10, 2022.
EBRAINS Infrastructure Training Events are intended for a wide audience, from early-career researchers to experienced scientists, aiming to introduce new users to tools and services (simulations tools, emulations, computing, analysis, ...) offered by the EBRAINS Research Infrastructure.
Agenda
Our team is contributing on day 2 and day 3:
Session: "Introductions to all the tools covered in this training event" at 09.00 AM (CET).
Prof. Ritter is introducing The Virtual Brain (TVB) software during the session "Introduction: whole brain level simulation" at 10.25 AM (CET).
Prof. Ritter is introducing Health Data Cloud (HDC): processing with data protection by design and by default session during the session: "Other tools" at 11.42 AM (CET).
Session: "Simulate with EBRAINS: NEST and arbor simulators, TVB, Health data cloud, Neuromorphic Computing, Electrical model buidling toolset" at 9.00 AM (CET).
Hands-on session 2 in parallel at 9.00 AM (CET).
TVB: demonstrating the TVB-EBRAINS integrated end-to-end personalized brain simulation workflows in the Cloud.
We demonstrate the TVB-EBRAINS integrated end-to-end personalized brain simulation workflows in the Cloud (Schirner et al. 2022) that can be reached via EBRAINS The Virtual Brain Cloud.
Attendees can work jointly in a dedicated collaboratory during the hands-on-session.

Health Data Cloud: an introduction to EBRAINS Service for Sensitive Data - the Health Data Cloud (HDC).
This session will provide an introduction to EBRAINS Service for Sensitive Data - the Health Data Cloud (HDC). We will demonstrate the technical and organizational measures to provide data protection by design and by default according to the EU general data protection regulations (GDPR). Features such as the GUI, command line interface, gateway to HPC, workbench tools, etc. will be demonstrated. We also plan a hands on session where attendees can experience HDC functionality on their own.
