The Brain Simulation Section is a proud member of the SHAIPED Consortium - a group of 30 partners from 11 Member States who are currently working on the European Health Data Space (EHDS) project. The project aims to develop artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for medical devices and further advance digital health in Europe. The SHAIPED Consortium has been awarded a European project tender with a total budget of 4 million euros for the EHDS project.
The project is a continuation of the pilot project for the EHDS, with which the HDH was commissioned by the European Commission and which aims to develop a European infrastructure for the secondary use of health data. In the age of artificial intelligence, a major challenge is to gain access to real data for medical devices in order to train, test and validate these tools. Integrating these devices into health information systems (HIS) and proving their clinical effectiveness are also major challenges. The SHAIPED consortium is now addressing these issues in several working groups.
