    Our lab member, Anuja Negi, recently completed her Master's in Computational Neuroscience, successfully defending her thesis on "TMS Evoked Potentials in Alzheimer’s Disease" at Technische Universität Berlin and Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience. Her research, supervised by Prof. Petra Ritter and Dr. Leon Stefanovski, provides new insights into Alzheimer's Disease using Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, marking a significant step in the field.     We're excited to share the wonderful news about our group member Anuja Negi, who has successfully completed her Master's in Computational Neuroscience. Anuja impressively defended her thesis at the Technische Universität Berlin and Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience on July 21, 2023.

    Master’s Thesis: Addressing Alzheimer’s Disease

    Anuja’s thesis, "TMS Evoked Potentials in Alzheimer’s Disease: A Whole-Brain Computational Model Approach", supervised by Prof. Petra Ritter and Dr. Leon Stefanovski, offers valuable insights into Alzheimer's Disease (AD). Her work examines the use of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to explore brain activity differences in AD, Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), and Healthy Controls (HC).

    Insights from the Research

    The innovative aspect of Anuja's study involved creating personalized whole-brain network models for participants, utilizing TMS and MRI scans. Her research successfully replicated the differences in TEPs (TMS-evoked potentials) observed in AD patients, linking these differences to changes in cortical geometry due to atrophy.

    This finding is an important contribution to understanding the progression of AD and suggests new directions for future research. It introduces a novel method for studying the effects of TMS in AD, which could lead to improved diagnostic and treatment methods.
